Education Minister Susil Premajayantha says that the results of the 2021 GCE Advanced Level Examination will be released on the 15th of August.
While speaking in Parliament today (04), the Minister said that although arrangements have been made to hold this year’s GCE/AL examination in November, it will be postponed by about a month.
The Minister said usually the GCE/AL examination is held three months after the results of the previous year’s exam is released to allow sufficient time for students taking the exam for the second time to be prepared. The results of 2021 exam will be released on 15th August and hence, the 2022 exam which was scheduled to be held in November will have to be postponed by about a month.
“We are currently organizing the activities to conduct sessions through the lecturers and professors of the 17 universities in the university system in for the teachers of 16 main subjects taught in advanced level, science, art, commerce, technology. In the three months of August, September and October, we are planning to hold special sessions in the classroom and collectively,” he explained.

The GCE Advanced Level examination which was scheduled to be held last year was held from February 7 this year. This year, 345,242 students appeared for the A-level examination at 2,438 centers.
