Officers of the Welikada Police Station have arrested three suspects along with several items stolen from the President’s House in Colombo.
The arrested suspects are residents of Obeysekarapura area in Rajagiriya, the Police said.
The police say that when the protesters entered the President’s House on July 9, the suspects stole 40 gold-colored brass balls that were fixed on the walls to hang the window curtains
The Police Media Spokesperson’s Office said that the suspects were arrested when they were attempting to sell the window treatments as antiques.
The suspects are to be handed over to the Colombo North Division Crimel Investigation Division, which is conducting investigations at the President’s House, for further investigation.
