Archeology officials inspect President’s House

A group of officials from the Department of Archeology has visited the President’s House in Colombo today to inspect whether the property of archaeological value had been damaged when the protesters forcibly occupied the official residence of the country’s President.

The Director General of the Department of Archeology, Mr. Anura Manatunga, and a group of officials participated in the observation.

The public who joined the struggle on last Saturday occupied the building and even now a large number of people are coming to see the state buildings such as the President’s House, the President’s Secretariat and Temple Trees occupied by the protesting public. It was also seen how some people who entered the premises had damaged the property of those buildings.
