The Galle Face protesters have decided to leave the state buildings occupied by them since Saturday (09), a representative of the protesters said.
The announcement was made during a media briefing conducted by a group of protesters at the Gota Go Gama at Galle Face struggle site.
Mr. Lahiru Weerasekera, representing the protesters, said that they had to take over the buildings of the President’s House, Temple Trees, the Presidential Secretariat and the Prime Minister’s Office to send a symbolic message that the President should leave the country and the President had also fled the country by now.
Protesters who demanded the resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa forcibly entered the state buildings on Saturday. They also entered the Office of the Prime Minister yesterday.
