A pioneer provider of British Higher Education in Sri Lanka, through its state-of-the-art IT and Business Campuses in Colombo, the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT), recently held its 28th Convocation Ceremony in grand style, at the BMICH, Colombo. The ceremony was held under the Informatics Institute of Technology in affiliation with the University of Westminster (UoW) in UK, with the Vice Chancellor and President of the University, Dr Peter Bonfield, in attendance.
Several degrees were awarded at the 28th Convocation Ceremony of the Informatics Institute of Technology, including Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Software Engineering, Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Business Information Systems, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Business Management, Master of Arts in Fashion Business Management, Master of Science in Advanced Software Engineering and Master of Science in Cyber Security and Forensics.
The event was also attended by graduating students, their families, academics and the senior management of IIT.The Gold Medal for Outstanding Achievements, and the University of Westminster Awards for Best All-Round Performances and Best Final Year Projects were presented to the recipients by the Chairman, Dr Gamini Wickremasinghe himself, underscoring the importance of these achievements.
From its inception, the Informatics Institute of Technology has helped ensure that all its graduates are highly employable, both in Sri Lanka and abroad. Several of the Institute’s alumni presently hold leading positions across Sri Lanka’s corporate sector, while several others have gone on to become leading entrepreneurs, and many have been empowered to take up opportunities overseas.
